About MedTek
SBF MedTek is Bangladesh’s first and till date the only Bio-Medical Equipment Assembler. Although created in 2021, the project had been a long time coming. Since 2006, SBF has been Asia’s largest nonprofit hemodialysis provider. During its evolution, the organization felt the urge to have an in-house bio-medical engineering team. The SBF Engineering division was created in 2014, which is even before Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology had their bio-medical engineering department. Professionals from the United States were brought in to train the team. Having that legacy, SBF had established the SBF Research and Development Center in 2019. To support country’s first bio-medical equipment manufacturing project, Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority had accommodated them in the one-of-a-kind Hi-Tech Park, Bangabandhu Hi-Tech City located in Gazipur. Eventually, SBF Research and Development Center has evolved into SBF MedTek with their highly professional team of Biomedical Engineers. As of 2022, they are regularly supplying Bangladesh-assembled Fresenius hemodialysis machines to government and private hospitals and clinics.

The Future of MedTek
The world has experienced the deadliest pandemic of the century in 2020 through 2021. Ventilator machines were in high demand at that time. With that in our minds, the surge has given us our choice for the next equipment we are planning to manufacture. Apart from that, we are closely working with US based firms to potentially manufacture colonoscopy, endoscopy and cardiac cathlab equipment.<br /> The estimated 1.33 acre land we received from Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority is under development, which will be used to hopefully establish the first bio-medical engineering campus in Bangladesh.
Our Achievements
Throughout the years, we had established ourselves as the most trusted Bangladeshi company to supply Hemodialysis machines and RO plants. Machines assembled by SBF MedTek are in operation throughout Bangladesh, Dhaka Medical College and Hospital’s dialysis unit and intensive care unit. Lots of our machines are also being used at the Bangladesh Shishu Hospital and Institute dialysis unit. We have supplied machines to numerous other hospitals and clinics countywide.
Along with nationwide service, we had extended our services international. In December 2020, we sent two of our top engineers to Accra, Ghana to help train biomedical engineers and create the first private dialysis center in Ghana, in partnership with Tushiyah Medical Care, Accra. We are striving to become the most promising biomedical engineering service provider globally.
