Sonar Bangla Foundation, a non-profit organization based in the USA, was founded by Bangladeshi expatriates living in Silicon Valley in 2009. Our primary beneficiaries are Bangladesh and Ghana, with Bangladesh receiving the majority of our support, accounting for 95% of our efforts.

In 2023, the SBF (Sonar Bangla Foundation) successfully organized several fundraising events in various cities across the United States of America. These events were held in Silicon Valley, Sacramento, Los Angeles in California, Austin in Texas, Phoenix in Arizona, and Columbus in Ohio. The aim was to raise financial and moral support for Bangladesh, particularly for its kidney patients. Following those events, SBF is delighted to announce that it is planning a social engagement and promotional event in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

We want to update you on the status of our mission projects in the health sector during our upcoming in-person meeting. Some of SBF’s operations in Bangladesh include servicing and assembling all brands of USA-made Fresenius Hemodialysis machines through an active partnership with a USA company at its SBF MEDTek in Bangabandhu Hitech Park. We also establish Nursing Institutes that provide 100% waiver to poor and meritorious students, run a Kidney Screening and Prevention Program, and are currently working towards establishing a world-class Kidney Transplant Center in Dhaka.

Event Scheduling Details

Our country office in Bangladesh has successfully worked with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Social Welfare, and the Mayors of Narayangonj and Rajshahi to obtain financial and legal support to continue and expand SBF’s non-profit mission and services in Bangladesh. I’m excited to inform you that since 2006, the foundation has grown from providing just 70 dialysis to providing over 76,000 hemodialysis at a highly subsidized cost, with some even provided free of charge. As a result, it has become the largest private provider of hemodialysis in Bangladesh, operating 22 dialysis centers.
